Let the market
tap you on the shoulder
Alerts watch the prices, moves and volumes you care about so you do not have to. Set a threshold once and get a clear flag the moment a company crosses it. This guide covers all of it.
Set it once, forget it
An alert is a simple rule: this company, this condition, this number. You build the rule, then PakStockLab watches the market and flags it the moment your rule comes true.
Three fields and you are watching
Creating an alert takes seconds. Pick a company, pick a condition, type a threshold. The status below the form shows whether that rule is already met right now.
Try it: switch the condition or change the threshold and watch the status flip between waiting and triggered, checked against MEBL's sample values.
Company
Search the full PSX list by symbol and pick the one you want to watch.
Condition
Choose one of four rules: price above, price below, daily change, or volume spike.
Threshold
Type the number the market must reach. Save, and the alert starts watching straight away.
Four ways to watch a stock
Every alert is built on one of these four rules. Between them they cover the moves worth knowing about: a price level, a sharp swing, or a jump in activity.
Price rises above
MEBL above Rs 260Fires when the share price reaches or climbs past your number. Use it to catch a breakout, or a level where you would consider taking profit.
Price falls below
OGDC below Rs 190Fires when the price drops to or under your number. Handy for spotting a dip you want to buy, or a stop level you are watching.
Daily change exceeds
Any move over 5%Fires when the day's move, up or down, is bigger than your percentage. It watches the size of the swing, so a sharp fall trips it just like a sharp rise.
Volume spike above
Volume over 5,000,000Fires when trading volume reaches your number. Unusual volume often signals news or big-player interest before the price fully reacts.
Set as many alerts as you like across as many companies as you like. Each one is checked against the latest market snapshot on its own.
Every alert, in one place
All your alerts live in a single table that shows each rule, its threshold, the current value and its status. From here you can pause, resume or delete any of them.
| Symbol | Condition | Threshold | Current | Status | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MEBL | Price rises above | 240.00 | 245.60 | Triggered | |
| OGDC | Price falls below | 190.00 | 198.40 | Active | |
| SYS | Daily change exceeds | 5.00 | 7.49 | Triggered | |
| LUCK | Volume spike above | 5,000,000 | 3,900,000 | Disabled |
Try it: use the bell to pause or resume an alert, or the trash icon to remove one.
The three statuses
Active
Armed and watching, but the condition has not been met yet. This is the resting state of a healthy alert.
Triggered
The market has crossed your threshold. The alert lights up green so you can see at a glance which of your rules have come true.
Disabled
Paused. It stays in your list with its settings intact but stops checking, until you switch it back on.
Straight to the company. Every symbol in the table links to its full profile, so when an alert triggers you are one click from the chart and the numbers behind the move.
Never miss a move again
A few habits that make alerts genuinely useful instead of just noise.
Set price-below alerts at levels you would actually buy, so a dip becomes an opportunity you do not miss.
Pair a price-above and a price-below alert on the same stock to bracket the range you care about.
Use a daily-change alert to catch big swings on stocks you follow but do not check every day.
Disable rather than delete an alert you may want back later; it keeps the settings ready to re-arm.
That's the Alerts module.
You have now covered every module in the manual.
