Module 04 · Compare

Companies side by side,
winner by winner

The Compare module lines up to ten companies in one view and highlights the best number in every row. Chart their performance, compare dozens of metrics and settle the debate with hard data. This guide covers all of it.

Step 01 · Choose your line-up

Pick the companies you want to weigh

Everything on the page is driven by this one choice. Add the companies you’re curious about and the rest of the module builds itself around them.

MEBLLUCKSYS Add company3 of 6
Search symbol or name…

Try it: click a company to add it, or the ✕ on a chip to remove it.

Search by symbol or name

Open the “Add company” box and type a ticker like MEBL or a name like Meezan. Pick from the list to drop it into the comparison.

Up to ten at once

Stack as many as ten companies side by side. Two is enough for a head-to-head; more is great for ranking a whole sector.

Add and remove freely

Every company shows as a chip. Hit the ✕ to drop just that one, or “Clear all” to start over, and the chart and table update instantly.

Shareable by link

Your selection lives in the page address, so you can bookmark a comparison or send it to someone and they’ll see the same companies.

Step 02 · The performance chart

Every price journey, on one axis

In Change % mode each line starts at 0% on the left, so companies with wildly different share prices become directly comparable: you’re seeing growth, not rupees.

Choose what the lines plot

One dropdown switches every line between price and other measures. Change % is the fairest way to compare growth; the rest show real, un-rebased values.

Choose the time window

Jump between preset ranges or type an exact start and end date. 1D streams live intraday ticks; All shows the full available history.

Print each company’s name right on its line so the chart reads without the legend.

Range slider

Add a drag-handle strip under the chart to zoom into any slice of the window.

Send a clean, chart-only version straight to your printer or a PDF.

Blow the chart up to fill the whole screen for presentations or a closer look.

Save the chart as a PNG to drop into a report, message or note.

Step 03 · The metric table

The number that wins each row

This is the heart of Compare. Line up your companies against dozens of metrics, and for every metric that has a clear winner, the best value is highlighted so the answer jumps out.

CompanyPriceChange %Mkt Cap
MEBL245.60+1.8%440.0B
LUCK1,045.60+4.7%342.0B
SYS878.40+7.5%256.8B

Try it: switch tabs and watch the best value in each column light up. Note how “best” means lowest for P/E, P/B and Debt/Equity.

Best isn’t always highest. For growth, returns, ROE and market cap, higher wins. For P/E, P/B and Debt-to-Equity, lower is better, so the smallest value is highlighted. Neutral fields like price and RSI are never flagged, and highlighting only appears once you’re comparing two or more companies.

Five tabs of built-in metrics

Switch tabs to focus on one theme, or stay on “All” to see everything at once.

Overview

Price, day change, volume and market cap: the headline snapshot.

Financials

EPS, book value, revenue and profit growth, and shares outstanding.

Ratios

P/E, P/B, ROE and Debt-to-Equity: the classic valuation and quality checks.

Price & Returns

Returns over 1W, 1M, 6M, YTD, 1Y and 5Y in one place.

Technicals

RSI, 50/200-day moving averages, 52-week high & low and average volume.

Go further

Add any indicator

The Indicators picker opens the Screener’s full metric library: hundreds of columns across every category. Search, tick, and they slot straight into the table.

Export what you see

Download the exact columns on screen as CSV or Excel to keep working in a spreadsheet or drop into a report.

Jump to the full profile

Every symbol in the table links to its company page, so you’re one click from the deep dive when a name stands out.

Step 04 · Average return

How much each one actually returned

A dedicated section that answers the real question, who made investors more money, across every timeframe, with a plain-English summary of the head-to-head.

Illustration only. The app charts real, corporate-action-adjusted returns.

Total Return

Default

Assumes every dividend is reinvested. This is the truest picture of what a shareholder earned, and it matches how most data providers quote returns.

Price Return

Share-price movement only, dividends excluded. Useful for high-payout stocks where you want to separate price gains from dividend income.

Both are already adjusted for stock splits, bonus shares and rights issues, so a corporate action never shows up as a fake jump. A short written summary under the chart spells out how your first two companies stack up over the past year and five years.

Put it together

Compare like an analyst

A few habits that turn a side-by-side view into a real decision.

Start with two companies for a clean head-to-head, then add more only when you’re ranking a whole group.

Compare like with like: pitting a bank against a cement maker on Debt-to-Equity can mislead, so keep the sector in mind.

Use Change % on the chart to compare growth fairly, then switch to Close Price when you actually care about the rupee levels.

Add the exact metrics you care about as columns, export to Excel, and open the standout name’s profile before deciding.

That's the Compare module.
