The Dashboard,
explained end to end
The Dashboard is your PSX command center: a single live snapshot of the whole market. This guide walks through every section, every number and every filter, in plain language.
Four sections, top to bottom
When you open the Dashboard you scroll through four stacked sections. Here's the map: click any card to jump straight to its full walkthrough.
The Index Ticker
The first thing you see is a moving strip of Pakistan's key market indices. Think of it as the market's pulse: one glance tells you whether the market as a whole is up or down today.
Sample data shown. In the app these are real PSX values.
Green means up
A green value with an up-arrow means that index is higher than yesterday's close. The two numbers are the point change and the percentage change.
Red means down
Red with a down-arrow means the index has fallen for the day. Grey means it is flat, with no meaningful change since the last close.
It stays live
While the PSX is open the ticker refreshes on its own, so the numbers you see are the latest available without you reloading the page.
You can control it
Hover to pause the auto-scroll, drag it left or right, or use the arrows that appear on the edges to browse every index at your own pace.
What is an index? An index like the KSE-100 bundles 100 large companies into one number so you can track the whole market's direction without checking each stock individually.
Market Statistics
Below the ticker sit four summary cards. Together they answer one question in seconds: how big is the market, and how did it do today?

Listed Companies
How many companies trade on the PSX right now.
ETFs (funds) are counted separately and noted underneath, so this number is real operating companies you can research and buy.
Total Market Cap (PKR)
The combined value of every listed company, in rupees.
Shown compactly (e.g. 9.48T = 9.48 trillion). It's the overall size of the market, and a rising figure usually means the market is gaining value.
Advancers
How many stocks are up today.
The small print adds decliners (down), flat (unchanged) and untraded. If advancers clearly beat decliners, it was a broadly positive day.
Avg. Day Change
The average percentage move across the market today.
A quick health check: green and positive means most stocks rose on average; red and negative means the typical stock fell.
Market Performers
Three lists sit side by side to show you where the action is today: what's being traded heavily, what's rising, and what's falling.

Top Active Stocks
Ranked by trading volume: the shares that changed hands the most today. High activity means lots of attention, often around news or results.
Top Advancers
The biggest percentage gainers of the day. A quick way to spot which stocks the market is buying most aggressively.
Top Decliners
The biggest percentage losers of the day. Useful for spotting weakness, or potential bargains worth a closer look.
Live during market hours. While the PSX is open these lists re-rank automatically every few seconds. When the market is closed they hold the final standings from the last session, so you never see stale numbers dressed up as live.
The Market Heatmap
The heatmap turns the entire PSX into a single coloured picture. Every company is a tile, and its size and colour instantly tell you what's big and what's moving.
Illustration only. The real heatmap renders the full market with hundreds of tiles.
Tile size = market cap. Bigger companies get bigger tiles, so the giants dominate the picture.
Tile colour = return. Green is a gain, red is a loss, grey is flat, and a “—” means there's no data for that period.
Shape the view

Whole Market · By Sectors
Whole Market shows the 50 largest companies as one map. By Sectors groups the tiles into their industries (Banking, Cement, Oil & Gas…) so you can compare sectors at a glance.
Performance Over
Today → 5 Years
Sets the time window the colours represent: Today, 1 Week, 1 Month, 3 / 6 Months, Year-to-date, 1 / 3 / 5 Years. Switch it to see who's hot today versus who's won over years.
Filter which companies show
Stack any of these to focus the map. Each one is optional: pick a preset from its dropdown or type your own value.
Show only companies inside a chosen index, e.g. just the KSE-100 constituents.
Narrow the map to a single sector such as Banking, Cement or Technology.
Price-to-Earnings. Lower can mean cheaper relative to profit, a classic value filter.
Price-to-Book. Compares price to the company's net assets on the books.
Sets a minimum share price, handy to hide very low-priced, thinly traded names.
Return on Equity: how efficiently a company turns shareholder money into profit. Higher is better.
Company size. Keep only larger, more established companies, or type a custom value like 15B.
Whenever a filter is on, a “N active” chip appears. Hover it to see exactly what's applied, then hit Reset Filters to clear everything and see the whole market again.
Get the most from your Dashboard
A few habits that turn the Dashboard from a pretty screen into a daily research routine.
Start at the ticker and stats for a 5-second read of the whole market, then dig into the heatmap.
Use the heatmap's By Sectors view to spot which industries are leading or lagging today.
Stack filters (e.g. Sector = Banking + P/E ≤ 10) to hunt for specific kinds of companies visually.
Change Performance Over to a longer window to tell short-term noise from long-term trends.
That's the Dashboard covered.
